Reading is a SUPERPOWER

This autumn in Ilkley library I am exploring storytelling and the magic of books in a small exhibition displaying colourful representations of imaginary land, the beautiful everyday and not least the love of books and reading.

I asked the Ilkley people what their favourite books were and I got so so many answers. The first few dozen titles have already been added to exhibition centre piece.  You can see my appeal for book titles here:

Excuse the dialect, as a Dane I can't work out how to speak Yorkshire, plus I was taught BBC English but spent my whole life watching American movies. So my accent is a mess.

You can visit the exhibition during open hours all days :)

I have also made a colouring story making 'book' for Wednesday story time. And I will be making another painting including the titles you people keep sending me :)

This is an example of how I make a personal stone for your special person:

 I am told and shown five or six characteristic things about the person (or Dog, Car, House, Even a bicycle one or twice) and then I get creative. When I have found the perfect stone that is!!

Conversion time not Brexit just exit

This Dane has married a professor of history and, you know, clever stuff, but she's also married a remarkably tidy and particular Englishman. Let's just say that project 'paint pictures not mess up house' has proven a bit of a challenge. We had a referendum. 51% voted I leave the house and go to garden shed ... I am pleased to say that the transition has been fairly smooth. Nobody got divorced or died in the making of IKEA furniture and no reduction in Danish everything has been noticed yet. 

Actually, even though it seems like a slippery slope to let husband know he's right, I must admit that I love my converted garden shed. It is already super #hyggeligt
