Christmas fayre in Knaresborough Nov. 27th

Situated on Knaresborough railway station the Old Ticket Office Café is not just a great gem of a Café with divine coffee, it is also the venue for a evening og crafts and Christmas fun on Nov 27th from 18-21

I will be there with my Stoneart, my hand painted Christmas tags, notebooks and cards :-)

What is a Livsmaleri -Life painting?

A Life painting is different kind of portrait.

Its starting point is one or more life stories, part of your everyday life or of a specific period or occasion. The watercolour portraits are painted in my personal naïvistic genre using bright colours and tiny simple brush strokes. The majority of my paintings of personal planets and universes are rather small but I paint in any size and on anything (ok not EVERYTHING but you know, artsy materials *S*). The planets' actual sizes are what suit you. The richness of detail remains high. In order to achieve this level of detail I draw and paint with the thinnest of pens and brushes using a magnifying lamp.

Sometimes a Livsmaleri is based around the favourite room in the home, filled with recognisable artefacts, references to anecdotes and other information. Sometimes the story is of a single memory, a loved house or indeed a whole life. Because of the amount of very small detail, people who have acquired my paintings often have a magnifying glass hanging next to the painting. That is good advice right there *S*
